ALESSANDRO BIRAL

Co-Founder & Managing Director

Alessandro is Co-founder and Managing Director of Novirian Capital. He is a seasoned executive professional with a unique and diversified background in venture capital, strategic finance and management, built over 30 years both in the U.S. and Europe.

Alessandro has completed several, successful secondary direct transactions, both at the portfolio level and single-company transactions. Among the most notable secondary exits: Doximity (IPO, NYSE:DOCS); Centrify (acquired by Thoma Bravo, and subsequently by TPG); Mixamo (acquired by Adobe Systems); Infoblox (IPO, formerly NYSE:BLOX); Inphi (IPO, formerly NASDAQ:IPHI).

Prior to Novirian, Alessandro was a general partner at KeyNote Ventures, a Silicon Valley-based, early-stage venture firm. From 1999 to 2003, he was head of Corporate Finance, and Technology Investments at the Fininvest Group of Italy, one of the largest multi-media and communications groups in the world. From 1994 to 1999, he was at Morgan Stanley in London, in the M&A and Restructuring Division. From 1990 to 1993, he was at Bain & Co. in Milan and London.

Alessandro holds an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated with distinction, and holds a MEng in Industrial Engineering from Polytechnic University of Milan, where he graduated at the top of his class (magna cum laude).
